Amazon sellers were disqualified from offering special offers after changing shipping prices twice in one minute

The seller, named "Malkavian," said he sells items for $7, and if the seller buys them individually, he can ship them with stamps and make a $3 profit. But most of the orders he receives are for two purchases, and the orders exceed the $10 threshold. He needs to pay $10-12 for shipping for each order, and loses more than $5 per order.

 

In order to avoid losses, "Malkavian" wanted to set his product to free shipping for single purchases, and charge $10 for two. He tried to add shipping fees for the product for 30 seconds and then restored the product to free shipping. The whole process took less than a minute. Then, "Malkavian" received a message from the Amazon team.

 

Amazon said: We are contacting you regarding abusive shipping rates on your product detail pages. We have removed all of your ASINs from Featured Offers eligibility . We have received complaints regarding shipping price fluctuations on your product detail pages . If we receive additional complaints about your products, we may remove your listings and may not allow you to sell to Amazon.

 

Malkavian was very upset. After losing the eligibility for featured offers, his products did not generate any sales in the morning for the first time in the past four months. Malkavian said he had lost hundreds of dollars, which was really unaffordable for him. Amazon needed Malkavian to provide assurances about the reasons for the fluctuations in shipping costs and that shipping costs would not continue to fluctuate before he could restore his eligibility for featured offers, which might take several weeks.

 

Under this post, many people sympathized with "Malkavian"'s experience, but at the same time said that "Malkavian" was lucky because his account had not been suspended and his listing had not been deactivated. As for the eligibility for special offers, he might be able to appeal and get it back.
