French e-commerce company Fnac's revenue in the first half of the year exceeded 3.4 billion euros

As an important region in the European market, French e-commerce is also in a period of rapid development. In addition to Amazon, the power of local e-commerce platforms cannot be ignored. Fnac is the second-ranked local e-commerce platform after Cdiscount and performed strongly in the first half of 2021.

Fnac adopts a combination of online and offline models. In addition to online sales, there are also many physical stores to complement each other. Under the influence of the epidemic, online sales have increased significantly, and e-commerce turnover currently accounts for 28% of the total, and the platform has more than 2 million active users. Under this trend, Fnac's goal is to achieve an online turnover share of 30% by 2025.

Although it originated in France, Fnac's sales range also radiates to several neighboring countries, and shopping preferences in different places are slightly different.

In France and Switzerland, apart from air conditioners, the sales of household appliances have grown steadily. Then there are electronic products, because working from home and IT equipment related to home office are very popular, and the recent European Cup also promoted a small climax in e-commerce sales. In addition, there are some books and games related, and local teenagers are the main consumers.

In the Iberian Peninsula, taking Spain and Portugal as examples, due to the blockade restrictions, many categories in these two countries have seen significant growth, mainly books, games, mobile phones, etc.

In Belgium and Luxembourg, overall sales increased by 5 million euros in the first half of this year, up 12.6% year-on-year , mainly due to the good sales momentum of local electronic products, home appliances and books .

Moreover, Fnac advocates the concept of sustainable development for consumers, such as strengthening the maintenance of home appliances and replacing old products with new ones, which is not only environmentally friendly but also improves customer experience.

In this regard, Fnac also stated, "Driven by the overall environment, we are very satisfied with the solid performance achieved in the first half of 2021. Although the future market situation is still unclear, through the combination of online and offline, we have greater confidence to meet future challenges."

Although relatively niche in China, local e-commerce platforms also have a certain market share, and sellers can also consider them as appropriate.
