Data compiled by Jungle Scout found that since April, viewers' enthusiasm for purchasing sports- related products has soared , with sales of products labeled "2021 Olympics" increasing by 202,684% year-on-year.

 

Even other products that have been removed from shelves , including the "Olympic Torch" merchandise , saw revenue increase 924% between March and July, and sales volume increase 430%.

 

So far, the top three countries in the medal table of the Tokyo Olympics are China, Japan and the United States. The sportsmanship of the athletes in the arena and the honors they have won for their country have greatly inspired the national pride of audiences from all over the world. At the same time, it has also driven a surge in the sales of many Olympic-related products on Amazon, among which the sales of the Japanese flag and "American Team Olympic Clothing" are particularly outstanding.


 

Jungle Scout analyzed Amazon search data from the first week and found that sales of the Japanese flag increased 688% on Amazon.com.

 

In the US market , searches for the official Olympic apparel of the US team increased by 2,681% , and sales also increased significantly. Gymnast Simone Biles' keyword searches soared by 205%. Soccer player Megan Rapinoe directly led to a 232% increase in searches for the keywords "Megan Rapinoe jersey" .

 

So far, the biggest increases in revenue and searches for Olympic-related products on Amazon’s U.S. marketplace have come from Olympic décor, Team USA apparel and merchandise for Olympic champions like gymnast Simone Biles and soccer player Megan Rapinoe.

 

Although due to the epidemic, spectators are prohibited from watching the games in person at this Tokyo Olympics, and even participants are obviously absent from the games, it still cannot stop people's enthusiasm for consuming Olympic-related products.
