Uncovering the White Labeling and Wholesaling Models of Independent Station Operations

In the past decade, e-commerce sales have increased by more than 300%. The lucrative profits and comfortable working from home are attracting more and more people to enter the e-commerce industry. For domestic cross-border e-commerce sellers, creating an independent website is one of the effective means to enter the e-commerce market.

This article introduces the business models commonly used by independent website sellers - White labeling model and Wholesaling model .

In the white labeling model, independent site sellers do not need to manufacture products themselves . Sellers sign relevant agreements with manufacturers, and the manufacturers provide products. Sellers add their own brand logos to the products after purchasing.

The advantage of the white labeling model is that sellers can choose those popular products and put their own brand logo on them for sale . When the product is of high quality, the price is right, and it meets the sales conditions , the white labeling model will help independent station sellers on the road of cross-border e-commerce .

The most important point of the white labeling model is to ensure that a valid and legal agreement is signed with the manufacturer of the product . Sellers need to order a large number of products in the early stage . If these products cannot be sold for various reasons , it will bring huge economic losses. Therefore, the white labeling model is not suitable for novice sellers . This model requires sellers to have a good understanding of the relevant market before trying it.

Speaking of bulk purchases, it is not difficult to think of another cross-border e-commerce independent station business model - the Wholesaling model, or in other words, this model is similar to "wholesale".

Wholesaling refers to buying products from manufacturers or wholesalers and then selling them for a profit. The more you buy in bulk, the lower the unit price of each item , and the higher the profit you make after selling it .

The biggest challenge in the Wholesaling model is that the balance between buying relatively fewer products at a higher price and buying relatively more products at a lower price is delicate and difficult to grasp .

The Wholesaling model requires sellers to have sufficient inventory space and more start-up capital. In addition, shipping and tracking order logistics will also be the work of sellers under the Wholesaling model .

There are many different business models for independent websites, and they are not static. Sellers need to assess the situation and choose a cross-border e-commerce path that is more suitable for them based on market conditions and their own circumstances.
