Over 160,000 domestically produced children's water cups recalled due to suffocation risk

The recall involves stainless steel tumblers that are 2.25 inches tall and are suitable for children aged 7 to 8 months. The tumblers have a handle. The tumblers are included in a set and only the tumblers are involved in the recall.

This cup was sold through online platforms from July 2018 to July 2021 for about $80 and was manufactured in China. The reason for the recall is that the handle is easy to fall off, posing a choking risk to young children, involving nearly 170,000 pieces .

So far, 70 reports of cup handles falling off have been received , including two cases of children holding the handles in their mouths. Children under one year old do not have a clear understanding of things, and a falling handle is likely to cause cuts and other problems to children. If they are not accompanied by their parents, there will be great risks.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should immediately keep the cup away from children, stop using it, and contact the online seller for a free replacement.

The silicone straw and nozzle in the lid may be damaged, which may cause the nozzle to fall off when pulled, which also poses a potential suffocation hazard.
