Americans love buying holiday gifts on Amazon

Recently , after surveying 1,000 American consumers, the research agency Jungle Scout released a survey report on American consumer holiday consumption trends in the fourth quarter of 2021. According to the report, Americans like to buy holiday gifts on Amazon the most, but they prefer to look for branded gifts on Walmart .

 

The main contents of the survey are as follows :

 

Four out of five consumers buy holiday gifts online, with the majority preferring Amazon

 

² 78% of respondents said they will purchase gifts through online channels, and 46% said they only shop online.

² 67% of respondents prefer to buy holiday gifts on Amazon , followed by 48 % on Walmart and 34% on other websites.

 

More shoppers search for specific holiday gift brands on Walmart than on Amazon

 

² 48% of Walmart shoppers search for brands ( such as Yankee Candle ) when shopping for holiday gifts , while only 38 % of Amazon shoppers do so .

 

55% of US consumers will treat themselves in 2022

 

² 68% of Americans said they would like to have more entertainment in 2022 .

² 46% of Americans say they are already making travel plans for 2022.

 

In addition, the report also mentioned the following points:

 

²Overall consumer spending: 34% of consumers will reduce overall spending in the final months of 2021 .

²Where consumers shop: In 2021, 54% of consumers shop on Amazon weekly , while 46% shop on Walmart.com weekly.

²What consumers are buying: Consumer spending on baby products on Amazon has increased 48% since the third quarter of 2021 .

 

Greg Mercer, founder of Jungle Scout, mentioned that consumers are beginning to rely on online channels to purchase important items such as holiday gifts . It is expected that more American consumers will turn to retail platforms like Amazon and Walmart to meet their needs as they plan to make changes in 2022 .
