Etsy Announcement: Sellers can set different prices for their products

Etsy recently announced the launch of the "Domestic and International Prices" feature, which allows sellers to set different prices for their products.

By using “domestic and international pricing ,” sellers can now set different prices for domestic and international customers . “This will give you the opportunity to grow your local business while expanding globally , ” Etsy said in the announcement . “ What’s more, with domestic and international pricing, you can easily offer free shipping (without having to select a country ).”

Currently, this feature is only available in countries with high foreign export volumes . Etsy pointed out in the announcement that "domestic and international prices" are currently not available for sellers in the United States and India. Etsy said that it will pay attention to sellers' feedback, gradually consider the needs of sellers in other regions, and continue to improve the domestic and global pricing functions.

Currently, sellers can only set two prices for their products , a domestic price and an international price . For sellers who already offer free shipping , Etsy responded that these sellers can set an international price, include the cost of shipping in the international price, and then continue to provide free shipping services.

In the comments section of the announcement, many sellers left comments praising the policy. But one British seller wrote, “One international price simply doesn’t work because the shipping costs between the UK to Europe and the US are so different that we have to raise the price and make European customers bear the shipping costs of US customers . ”

The seller also said that the free shipping policy is unreasonable because it is not really "free shipping", but the shipping cost is included in the price. If customers purchase multiple items, they will pay the full shipping cost for each item and cannot benefit from the shipping discount.

A Canadian seller left a message : This is a good policy , but it is not reasonable to only provide one domestic price in Canada , because each region in Canada has different postal rates . He hopes that Etsy will consider Canada's special situation in the future .

Given the current high costs of cross-border shipping, Etsy’s new policy can indeed provide sellers with more flexible options. Sellers in multiple markets may want to pay attention to it.
