Lazada holds its ninth birthday sale, with seller engagement increasing by 50%

The ninth birthday promotion of Southeast Asian e-commerce platform Lazada has come to a successful conclusion. During this year's birthday promotion, many data set new records.


It is reported that the ninth birthday promotion was held on March 27, 2021. During the event, seller participation increased by 50% year-on-year.


More than 80 percent of local LazMall brands also participated in the birthday promotion , Lazada said in a statement today .


Meanwhile , sellers who use Lazada’s Sponsored Solutions – its suite of digital marketing tools including Sponsored Discovery – can earn more than RM9,500 in returns for every RM1 invested .


In addition, more than 1,000 sellers benefited from joining the Sponsored Affiliate Program as all of their sales came from this channel, Lazada said .

This support has been a catalyst in changing the way people shop and the way sellers do business , boosting the local economy , said Magnus Ekbom , CEO of Lazada Malaysia and Chief Strategy Officer of Lazada.


He added : Many factors have further consolidated our position in the Malaysian market. We will become the first choice, favored and trusted by more Malaysians.


As the outbreak forced people to stay at home , Lazada said its e-commerce live streaming and interactive gaming features enabled more Malaysians to join in on the birthday promotion .


Lazada said the Lazada Super Party Show attracted more than 2 million viewers across all platforms , while the average time spent playing LazGames through the Lazada app doubled.


Lazada also said : Consumers voted 11 million times on LazFeed to receive Lazada’s birthday surprise gifts . In addition , the number of Malaysian users using Lazada Wallet as their preferred payment method has tripled this year .


It is worth mentioning that logistics and transportation are also crucial to Lazada . In order to better serve consumers during this promotion, delivery personnel traveled more than 124,000 kilometers to ensure that the packages were delivered in the shortest time.
