According to statistics, in 2020, online bank card payments in the Czech Republic increased by 36%, bank transfers increased by 25%, and credit card payments covered almost 30% of transactions.
According to Statista , the Czech e-commerce industry was worth approximately 2.5 billion euros in 2019 and is expected to reach 3.39 billion euros by 2020. The website predicts that online revenue in the Czech Republic will grow at an annual rate of 2.57% until 2025.
In the Czech Republic, people shop online at some major online retailers, such as Alca.cz, an online platform that mainly sells various consumer electronics products, Mall.cz, an online department store, Rohlik.cz, a well-known online supermarket, and CZC.cz.
Among all online shopping categories, the most popular category is fashion, accounting for 29% of Czech online sales revenue, followed by consumer electronics and media, accounting for 28%, toys, entertainment and DIY tools accounting for 23%, furniture and household appliances accounting for 12%, and food and personal care accounting for 8%.
In addition to paying attention to domestic e-commerce platforms, Czech consumers also often visit foreign e-commerce websites such as Amazon, Zalando, AliExpress and other mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms.
The Czech e-commerce market is gradually opening up. Sellers can pay more attention to market trends and seize opportunities this year.
