Andrea Stairs takes over as eBay's chief marketing officer and will have three roles

Foreign media reported that at the end of January, eBay officially appointed Andrea Stairs as eBay's chief marketing officer and vice president of seller community in North America . According to foreign media analysis, this may herald a new era of communication with sellers.

It is reported that eBay 's former chief marketing officer Suzy Deering left the company at the end of last year and joined Ford Motor Company as its global chief marketing officer this month. Andrea Stairs, who took over as chief marketing officer, has been working at eBay since 2005 and has been working at eBay for 15 years. After this position change, she will play a triple role: chief marketing officer, vice president of seller community in the North American market, and her original position - president of eBay Canada.

According to the announcement on the eBay community, Andrea Stairs's responsibilities are buyer marketing, which means helping sellers attract traffic to listings and markets. Andrea Stairs has a good memory of the organization, so she may be able to better understand the needs and desires of buyers and sellers.

The announcement also showed that the issues that Andrea Stairs is most familiar with include inventory, cross-border trade and seller experience at each site . It can be foreseen that these issues will become eBay's key work projects after she takes office .

Jordan Sweetnam, Senior Vice President of North America , said: "Andrea and I actually started our eBay careers in Canada at the same time, and I have always been in awe of her unique strategies, creativity, sense of humor and enterprising attitude." In the announcement, Jordan not only welcomed Andrea's arrival, but also thanked eBay's sellers: "Thank you for your efforts to adapt under the pressure of only selling essential items, insisting on working from home and actively solving shipping problems. Thank you for your patience and cooperation, we will continue to develop eBay to make it a great place for buyers and sellers for the next 25 years. Thank you for sharing your feedback."

However, in the reader comments section of the report, sellers still did not have a good face about this: "The announcement said: 'I am here to act as your voice. I am deeply grateful for the work you have done and for bringing this to the market.' Well, now listen to me - I want to go back to paying with PayPal, bank cards and credit cards! But my voice has not been transmitted at all, I am like a deaf-mute!"
