According to the latest news from foreign media, the two e-commerce giants Amazon and Shopify recently reached a cooperation agreement. In the future, Shopify sellers will also be able to use Amazon's logistics network.
As everyone in the industry knows, the main business of these two companies is to provide services to e-commerce sellers. According to official announcements from the two companies, Shopify sellers in the United States will be able to use Amazon's Buy with Prime tool in the future.
It is understood that the project was launched in internal testing on Wednesday, but only for a small number of invited Shopify sellers. Amazon said that Amazon's logistics service will be officially launched to all Shopify sellers by the end of September at the earliest.
Shopify's stock price rose more than 2% in after-hours trading following the announcement, while Amazon's stock price rose less than 1% after the partnership was announced.
Last year, Amazon officially launched the Buy with Prime program. In the eyes of the outside world, Amazon’s move was intended to suppress Shopify’s development momentum.
In recent years, this Canada-based e-commerce company has grown rapidly. It can provide sellers with one-stop website building services and promises to help brand sellers build their own websites to sell goods instead of relying on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon or eBay.
Judging from the current market share, Amazon is undoubtedly the largest online retailer in the United States and has a huge user base. However, recently more and more sellers have begun to complain about some of the platform's unfair terms, and the platform's customer service is very slow to respond to sellers.
With the Buy with Prime tool, sellers can enjoy Amazon's convenient payment and logistics services while selling on their own websites, which can be said to be killing two birds with one stone.
Amazon said the Buy with Prime feature helps consumers buy items from unfamiliar brands or websites because they trust the Amazon shopping experience.
However, according to Marketplace Pulse, which surveys online sellers , Shopify had previously warned merchants using Buy with Prime that the feature violated Shopify's terms of service. Amazon Shopify |
