Tik Tok is most popular among American youth, and 87% of them look for shopping inspiration on it!

Recently, Forrester conducted a survey of more than 4,600 American teenagers and found that Tik Tok has surpassed Instagram to become the most popular social application among young Americans.

The survey shows that nearly 63% of young people of Generation Z use Tik Tok every day, higher than 50% last year; the proportion for Instagram is 57%, a slight decrease from 61% last year; and the proportion for Snapchat is 54%, the same as last year.

Forrester's in-depth analysis found that most respondents said Tik Tok is more interesting than Instagram and the user experience is relatively better.

It is worth noting that YouTube is still the most used application by teenagers in the United States. According to Forrester statistics, 72% of young Americans use YouTube every week.

Although Tik Tok’s usage is not as high as YouTube, the survey results show that Tik Tok is developing rapidly and its popularity among the younger generation is increasing.

Although YouTube is currently trying to "get a piece of the pie" in the short video field, overall, Tik Tok and YouTube have relatively obvious differences, and have also been widely recognized in their respective fields.

The increasing frequency of use of social software also means that corporate sellers have more channel options when promoting and advertising their products, while also increasing product exposure.

Previous surveys have shown that before the peak shopping season arrives, many consumers will look for shopping inspiration on social media. 58% of consumers said that social media will affect their shopping choices. 87% of Generation Z young people said that Tik Tok, YouTube and Instagram will give them shopping inspiration.

Some consumers who shop on social media believe that some bloggers’ recommendations and advertising pages will make them interested in the products and click on them. According to GWI research, the number of users who plan to shop during Black Friday through Tik Tok ads is 54% higher than that of other platforms.

Therefore, this also gives business sellers some inspiration for promotion. In addition to normal advertising, cooperating with some bloggers who are popular or have professional fields is also a popular trend in publicity and marketing.

According to Tik Tok's previous survey, clothing will become the "focus of attention" for consumers during this year's shopping season. Gifts, electronic products, personal care and other categories are also attracting the attention of users and consumers.

Various data show that Tik Tok has become an indispensable entertainment app in people's daily lives. Therefore, when formulating product marketing strategies, sellers can consider social media channels such as Tik Tok to attract more users to consume.
